Coach of the Year at Cheshire Academy

First the team got the accolades for its championship, now their coach is in the history books. Cheshire Academy Head Basketball Coach Kevin Kehoe today was named the Coach of the Year by the New England Prep School Mens Basketball Coach Association.
Kehoe was modest about the honor. “They are a great team. They went from tip to wire this year. The players we brought to the table had a team concept. The group liked each other and it made it easy for them to learn how to play. We made sure they developed synergy with each other,” he said.
Kehoe is in his sixth year as the head coach of the Fighting Cats. The Cheshire Academy team won the NEPSAC Class B Championship on March 2, the first time the school has captured the title in 24 years. He was chosen by the association’s 28 coaches for the award.
