Registration Ends This Fri. for Golf Outing Fundraiser for Charlotte's Web & Acts 4 Ministry

Registration ends this Friday for the May 30th Acts 4 Ministry in Waterbury and Charlotte’s Web of Prayer in Cheshire fundraising golf outing tournament and dinner on Friday, May 30. The event will be held from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Timberlin Golf Course in Kensington. All proceeds will go to the families of Charlotte's Web of Prayer, Yale New Haven Pediatrics, and to support Acts 4 Ministry. Deadline for player participation and all sponsorships is this Friday, May 16.

Chris DePaolo, creator of Charlotte’s Web of Prayer, explained that, “Charlotte's Web of Prayer was put on my heart while at the Yale Pediatric ICU with my then-3 year old daughter Charlotte who had suddenly become violently ill. Through many tests over the course of several days, we learned she had had multiple strokes. We were blessed to learn that while she was in the hospital, five separate prayer chains had been established to help us through this horrific ordeal.

While in the Yale New Haven Pediatrics ward I saw other children and their families go through the struggles we were. Once Charlotte was well, I decided to set up a large prayer network. Our ambition is to pray for children and their families with life threatening and terminal illnesses and help them meet their basic needs and financial burdens.”

In 2008, Chris DePaolo learned of the generous ways that Acts 4 Ministry meets people’s basic and formed a collaborative ambition to support each other’s missions. Acts 4 Ministry, Inc. Executive Director Sarah Elizabeth DiMeo commented, “We admire the perseverance of the DePaolo family and support their mission and the efforts of Charlotte’s Web of Prayer. We collaborate with them to provide tangible needs of families they connect with and feel blessed to know of the unity, prayers and love these children are receiving.” The mission of Acts 4 Ministry is to support the needs of families and individuals who are in dire financial distress and have lost virtually everything they possess to a fire, flood, or other devastating life event.

Charlotte’s Web Prayer affects many families by alleviating the financial burdens caused by having a child who becomes ill. DePaolo stated, “This could have been a $156,000 bill for two weeks in the ICU. Families face the impossible choice of being in the hospital to care for their child or go to work so they can put food on the table and not get kicked out of their homes. Most choose to be with their kids but end up in serious financial problems, on top of the burden of a sick child.”
