Walk Like MADD Cheshire Honors Greg Schena on Saturday, April 5, 2014

Walk Like MADD, the signature walk of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, is a fun, community-driven 5K event that raises funds and saves lives.  Every step taken and every dollar raised supports MADD’s initiatives in CT, including the Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving which calls for ignition interlocks for all drunk drivers; sobriety checkpoints and/or saturation patrols and community support.

MADD is looking for walkers, teams and Team Captains to join this 3- mile walk through the Town of Cheshire in memory of Cheshire resident and Coach Greg Schena who was killed by a drunk driver May 12, 2010.

Drunk driving is the nation’s most frequently committed violent crime.  In 2012, 85 people were killed in Connecticut in drunk driving crashes.  Nationally, MADD served over 50,000 victims/survivors and money raised through the Walk Like MADD helps to provide victim support services at no cost to the victim/survivors.
