Cheshire Rotary Honors Don Walsh

The Rotary Club of Cheshire, together with the support of the Trustees of Rotary International, recently recognized Don Walsh of Cheshire as a Paul Harris Fellow in a special award dinner Oct. 3 at the Waverly Tavern Restaurant in Cheshire.

Walsh received the award because of his humanitarian activties, such as donations for Multiple Sclerosis, Team Jennifer and as founder of Cheshire's Lights of Hope.

The Paul Harris Fellowship is named for Paul Harris, who founded Rotary with three business associates in Chicago in 1905. The Paul Harris Fellowship was established in his honor in 1957 to express appreciation for a contribution of $1000 to the humanitarian and educational programs of The Rotary Foundation. Rotarians can also designate a Paul Harris Fellow to recognize another person whose life demonstrates a shared purpose with the objectives and mission of The Rotary Foundation.

A contribution was made in Don's name by the Cheshire Rotary Club. Presentation of the award was done by Rotarian and Assistant Governor Tari Marshall-Day and Cheshire Ellen McKinley.

The Rotary Club of Cheshire is always looking for engaged members.  For more information on club meetings or membership, contact Wendy Farrell at 203-907-8837 or e-mail CheshireRotary@gmail.com
