Eastern Meadowlarks Nest Near Boulder Knoll Farm

Eastern meadowlarks are in decline in the state but a nesting pair has raised a hatchling near Boulder Knoll Community Farm

A baby meadowlark temporarily lost its way recently at flying into a plastic hoop house and needing a bit of human interaction to find its way out.

Environmental Educator Julia Meurice released the young bird into the meadow and off it went!

A sighting of an adult Eastern meadowlark on the farm fence overlooking the wetland meadow was reported by two community farm members a week ago.

Eastern meadowlarks are in decline throughout the state, so open space land such as Boulder Knoll Farm plays a critical role in providing habitat and nesting areas for species.
