National Day of Prayer Comes to Cheshire Thursday

Residents from across Cheshire will come together on Thursday evening as the town celebrates the 62nd annual National Day of Prayer.

The event, which will be held at Christ Community Church, 120 Main St. in Cheshire, will use the theme of "One Nation Under God."

"It is a wonderful opportunity for the residents of Cheshire to come together and pray for our nation's government leaders, police, fire, emergency medical personnel, military, churches, schools and families," said Gwen Crosson, a member of the Cornerstone Church.

The service is nondenominational and is open to the public, she said. Residents are encouraged to take part and to join together afterwards as refreshments will be served.

The event will take place from 7 to 8 PM. Those with questions may contact Chris McMahon at (203) 272-4527.
