State Gas Prices Down 25 Cents

Prices at the pump decrease significantly in a month.

Gas prices throughout Connecticut continue dropping from their peak several months ago. According to the price tracking website Connecticut Gas Prices, the state average is down to $3.75 per gallon.

"While current factors still point to some falling gasoline prices in some areas, mainly the West Coast, oil prices haven't continued to shed as much value in the past week," said senior petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan, of GasBuddy.com, in a statement. "Prices in the past few years have bottomed out in June, we could see a similar situation play out this year.”

A month ago, Connecticut gas prices were $4. A year ago to the day they also averaged $4. In just a week, the state average dropped seven cents.

While the gas prices in Connecticut keep dropping, they’re still far above the national average of $3.56.

The cheapest gas in town is shown to be $3.80 a gallon at the Cheshire Citgo, 626 Maple Ave.
