The Cheshire Historical Society opened for the season Sunday to invite residents and visitors to explore the town’s past and connect with its future. Most Sunday afternoons through the summer the society at 43 Church Dr. is open for free tours from 2 – 4 p.m.

On display are 13 pieces of glass-enameled sculptures foundry building at 830 South Main St. The company’s line offers more than 350 pieces, which are sold internationally and included in the Smithsonian catalog.
The society’s spring newsletter notes Bovano began in a home basement in 1952 where the enamel-on-copper process was developed. Original owner John BonSignor was joined in the business by Dave Flood in 1964. The company’s current president, Jim Flood, is the founder’s son.
Bovano will hold its annual studio tour at the Cheshire foundry on June 16 at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.
