Pancake Breakfast

The Rotary Club of Cheshire will host its 40th annual Pancake Breakfast at the Cheshire High School.

Music accompaniment will be provided by the Cheshire High School Jazz Combo, and Laurel String Trios. A donation box will be set out during the pancake breakfast so individuals may make donations to help fund raising efforts for the Cheshire High School Band, which has been invited by the Queen of England to participate in the 26th New Year’s Day Parade – London, in 2012. The highly prestigious turn of year celebration is established as the biggest parade of its kind and will be the first official event during London’s Olympic year. The Queen’s Deputy Lieutenant, Lord Bramble, as well as the parade executive and directors traveled to Cheshire this past fall to personally extend the invitation.

The Pancake Breakfast has been one of the main fund raising events for the Rotary club of Cheshire since 1970. Annually, over $20,000 of funds from the breakfast and other fund raising events go to service projects including the local scholarship program, Cheshire Human services, the "William E. Grove II Memorial Firefighter of the Year" award, the Birthday Book program with the Cheshire Public Library, the Cheshire YMCA , as well as contributions to many agencies including: COCO, Cheshire Food Drive, Hospice organizations, Boy Scouts of America, and Cheshire Senior Center.
