CHS Serves Up Pasta & Jazz

A Pasta & Jazz dinner featuring the Cheshire High School Jazz Ensemble will be held Friday, February 10, 2012 (snow date Saturday, February 11) from 6 – 9 pm in the Cheshire High School Cafeteria. The 22 member Jazz Ensemble will perform throughout the evening. The Cheshire High School Improv students will also be making an appearance. Ticket prices are $13 for adults, $9 for students and seniors, and age 6 and under are free. Tickets are available at the door or can be reserved by calling 203-605-8653.

Tickets include pasta, salad, rolls, beverages, desserts and live jazz music with a dance floor. All proceeds raised through this event will be used for the Cheshire High School Jazz Ensemble and their related events.

During recent years, the Cheshire High School Jazz Ensemble has participated in a variety of prominent jazz festivals including the Berklee Jazz Festival and the WCSU Jazz Festivals frequently attaining high honors for their performances as one of the top high school jazz ensembles in the region. The CHS Jazz Ensemble has worked and performed with such professional jazz musicians as Terel Stafford, Steve Davis, Dick Oatts and Garry Dial. In March, the CHS Jazz Ensemble will travel to the University of New Hampshire to participate in the Clark Terry UNH Jazz Festival and will host their 9th Annual Jazz Festival on May 4, 2012 at Cheshire High School featuring trombonist Luis Bonilla. Jazz is alive and well at CHS so come and join the fun!
