Sunday Showcase Concert: Tanya Anisimova, cello, with Pi-Hsun Shi, piano

The library's Sunday Showcase series commences with a concert featuring cellist Tanya Anisimova and pianist Pi-Hsun Shi.
Russian-American cellist and composer Tanya Anisimova has become known for her unorthodox interpretations and masterful cello transcriptions and arrangements. Australian press has described her artistry as “a masterful combination of an instinct, uncompromising spirit, and intellect.”
Described as a pianist of "searing precision" by the Hartford Courant, Pi-Hsun Shi enjoys a versatile career as soloist, collaborative pianist and teacher.
Sunday's program will include pieces by Shubert, Locatelli and Shostakovich.
The duo will be making their Carnegie Hall debut on October 21.
