CYT's Willy Wonka Opens to Delighted Audience

An appreciative opening night crowd attended the Cheshire Youth Theater's performance.

Over 300 fans attended the opening night show of Willy Wonka. The audience was full of children and adults all buzzing with excitement for the play prior to the show.

There were shouts of excitement from the audience during songs such as The Candy Man and Pure Imagination. The cast was just as amazing as the sets, which were both interactive and beautiful.  The production was able to make use of standard techniques and include some new techniques, such as strobe lights and projections, which were well placed in this year’s play.

The show also included some fun surprises beforehand such as a golden ticket hid under a lucky person’s seat. The actors also came into the audience while walking through the chocolate factory, and made everyone feel like a part of the show.
