Paul Ryan's Statements Compiled from Last Seven Years

A virtual interview with Paul Ryan in his own words.

This imaginary interview is compiled from comments made by Paul Ryan since 2005.

Interviewer - We welcome Republican Vice Presidential is a guest today on Let the Truth Shine Through is the Welcome to our program.*

Paul Ryan – Glad to be here.

Interviewer - Mr. Ryan, You fascinate me by your devotion to serving your country. What is the engine which drives you?

PR – I believe that the moral vision of our Founding Fathers is being replaced by one that is  un-American – a government which makes all citizens dependent upon it.

Interviewer - Mr. Ryan could you elaborate on what was the vision of our founding fathers?

PR – The Father of our country, George Washington, was first and foremost a business man. He was a  man who loved this land; so much so, that he bought as much of it as he could.
Washington was truly the “Father of Acquisitiveness” and role model for us. He bought more land than any other president.  In today’s dollars he was the richest of all our presidents.
Liberals think that GW had a vision of creating a commune, where people shared what they had with one another and walked around naked.

Interviewer – You are known to be a devout Catholic. Does that have any influence on your views on taxes, entitlement programs and finance regulation?

PR – My Catholic faith gave birth to my political views.  It is morally wrong for the government to decide who are the winners and who the losers by confiscating the earnings of the wealthy who create jobs and prosperity.
I proudly and strongly oppose developing energy alternatives which will hurt the giant coal and oil industries.  There's no such thing as global warming - it's all natural climatic variation. And if there is a problem, it won't affect us much.
We should eliminate programs such as food stamps or revitalizing distressed public housing that take from those who succeed and give to the losers. I proudly voted NO on four weeks of paid parental leave for federal employees. (June 2009)
Obama and the liberal establishment you know places like the one in my backyard, the University of Wisconsin in Madison are a cancer assaulting capitalism, which is the moral foundation of society
They are creating a culture of dependency on the government, not on oneself. They mean to replace the American idea. And that brings me to my demand of enforcement of immigration laws, without amnesty.

Interviewer – Regarding your budget proposal your former parish priest in Janesville, Father Stephen Umhoefer told the Center for Media and Democracy,  “You can’t tell somebody that in 10 years your economic situation is going to be just wonderful because meanwhile your kids may starve to death.”

PR – To the best of my knowledge Pope Benedict is a proponent of laissez-fare economics.

Interviewer- Mr. Ryan, as a vice president will you  support the positions of Mitt Romney?

PR – Absolutely.

Interviewer -Now as I understand it, Mr. Romney believes that Abortion should be prohibited except in cases of rape or incest.  Are you prepared to forgo your belief in prohibiting abortion in cases of rape and incest?

PR – As Vice President I will support the President’s position.

Interviewer - You feel that life begins at conception. How did you come to decide to forgo your passionate adherence to your belief which is according to you a matter of life and death?

PR – It’s been very difficult. My personal belief is that women should not be allowed to choose. Abortion is immoral because it kills a human being, and should never be tolerated.

Interviewer - People out there want to know more about you; your inner self. What can you tell us about the things you enjoy most? With your clothes on, of course.

PR- Clothes on or off,  I enjoy most  fighting to free the average millionaire from being forced to share with those who are unsuccessful I support abolishing all taxes on dividends, capital gains and inheritance for these hurt the wealthiest the most.

Interviewer – But what about hunting and skinning the animal?

PR - I thoroughly enjoy both those activities as well. But I have to tell you, I enjoyed even more voting against the minimum wage bill.  The job creators should establish what wages and benefits, if any, they wish to give workers.

Interviewer - Can you think of other activities you really enjoy?

PR - Protecting gun rights. Giving people the opportunity to buy guns and rifles without having to wait 3 days before getting to enjoy the thrill of hunting and killing animals.  Perhaps  Obama doesn’t like hunters or feels threatened by a well-armed America. I’m proud to say that I voted YES on prohibiting product misuse lawsuits on gun manufacturers.

Again let me reiterate the only social system consistent with this morality is full respect for individual rights embodied in laissez-faire capitalism.  Human beings may voluntarily choose to come to the aid of their neighbors, but not coerced to help the poor, the homeless and the losers.

No Maria, the reason they got ahead was not because the government helped them with the GI bill, the reason they succeeded is because they worked hard and pull themselves up by the boot straps and kept pressing on, knowing if they worked harder they could make a better life. THEY DID NOT LOOK FOR GOVERNMENT HAND OUTS.

Calling all Liberals
Please defend BO on this move Obama Honored Fallen SEALs By Sending Their Parents a Form Letter Signed By Electric Pen
Michael August 30, 2012 at 04:03 pm
SO Tom, you are saying Biden is a better choice?????
Maria Giannuzzi August 30, 2012 at 04:11 pm
Yes, Mr. Y and you have benefitted, deservedly. As you say, everyone benefits from public education and other government programs. Everyone. So why won't the Republicans admit this simple fact. The government helps upper and middle-income homeowners and families with children. Why is helping childless low-wage workers without benefits any different? If their employer paid them $25 an hour and provided health benefits instead of $7.25 with no benefits, they too would be able to buy a home and have a family. Then they too would be able to take advantage of all those tax deductions and credits.
Success can be defined in many ways. It's not always about financial rewards.

Wow, Maria you are even slower on the uptake than usual today. The point that is illustrated here, that you acknowledge by your actions but deny by your words, is that in an imaginary interview it is extremely easy to "lie", distort, alter and otherwise manipulate statements that people actually made. Despite the assertion you made to the contrary because you are sympathetic to Mr. Isseroff's motives, it is not a legitimate technique. It is fine when used to demonize Mr. Ryan, but bad when used on you. You are a hypocrite.
Maria Giannuzzi August 30, 2012 at 04:40 pm
I don't think the statistics will support your "pull themselves up by the bootstraps" theory. Most immigrants always worked hard. Their children worked hard too. They had to. They would have starved if they hadn't. The proof is here: Many immigrants and native-born Americans had to send their young children, 7-12 years olds, out to work to pay for everyday necessities which the parents could not provide on their low wages alone. Is that what you call pulling yourself up by your bootstraps?
Again, the better educated immigrants or those who arrived with money had an easier time of it. An education helps to open doors. For one thing, it's much easier to start a business. And those who could read and write in their native languages and learned English quickly could get better-paying jobs. Activists among doctors, nurses, women's organizations, artists, government officials, labor leaders and ordinary citizens looked at the plight of many Americans, both foreign and native born, and started lobbying for government programs to address these problems.
Bob B August 30, 2012 at 04:44 pm
Regarding dependency relationships, it is the government that is totally, 100% dependent on taxpayers.
Maria Giannuzzi August 30, 2012 at 04:44 pm
Good jobs with benefits opened up just prior to and during World War II and in the years after. Social Security provided payments to older immigrants, which made it possible for their adult children to buy a house and pay for their children to go to college, many times also with the help of government programs. In the 1960s Medicare started, which again increased the wealth of the adult children, former WWII veterans, of immigrant parents. The adult children no longer had to pay their immigrant parents' hospital bills.
Michael August 30, 2012 at 04:47 pm
Maria,
Please this is not china and we are not key dependent on uncle sam. Maybe your people lived off the government, but mine and many others did not. You way of thinking is backwards, its not the roads that make companies strive and its not the public schools that make people great. Let me say this one more time so you can clearly understand it. IT'S THE DRIVE OF THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE THEMSELVES BETTER AND NOT THE GOVERNMENT. THE GOVERNMENT HAS NEVER CREATED A SINGLE DIME IN THIS COUNTRY, THEY ARE COST CENTER
Maria Giannuzzi August 30, 2012 at 04:47 pm
We should note that we had many millions of men and women in uniform during World War II. A large percentage of these servicemen and women were the children of immigrants. A substantial part of our post-war adult population were veterans. I think only the Soviet Union had a larger percentage of their adult population in uniform.
Michael August 30, 2012 at 04:48 pm
I'm still waiting for the liberals to defend Obama on sending a form letter to the soldiers who dies defending our country. It' time for GTFO......
Maria Giannuzzi August 30, 2012 at 05:01 pm
It is never fair to change someone's words, including shortening a sentence. It doesn't matter who does it. You cannot squirm out of a failed attempt to be clever. If you had been sincere instead of clever, you would not have changed my words. But if you apologize, I will accept it.
Maria Giannuzzi August 30, 2012 at 05:12 pm
The myth is so strong that even decent, intelligent people will deny history and current reality. I'm beginning to think it is due to a failure of imagination by many of those on the right. And isn't that why President Obama won the 2008 election. Didn't he tap into the public's imagination? He helped us imagine what was possible for ourselves and our country. That he perhaps has not lived up to that future in some ways is no reason to stop imagining.

Intersting that I can't find any links to this other than far right wacko websites? Something other than Drudge, or gatewaypundit, or the news tribune.
Bob B August 30, 2012 at 05:26 pm
No problem - as soon as you admit to all of your statements of "fact" that have been on this site in recent months that have been refuted. You lie all the time. People call you on it, prove you are wrong, and you respond by changing the subject. You are a complete hypocrite.
Michael August 30, 2012 at 05:30 pm
Maria are you really basing your choices on who has a better imagination, we don't need a person who works at Disney World, we need a strong leader, which BO has proven he is not
Michael August 30, 2012 at 05:31 pm
All liberals lie to make their point, the problem is, they have begun to believe their lies
Maria does your employer know you spend all day online posting lies......... Do you work for the government
Maria Giannuzzi August 30, 2012 at 05:33 pm
My people served their country honorably during World War II. My people were bombed by the Americans and shelled by the Germans. My people worked from the time they were 11-years old. My people had to leave school so they could help support their familes. My people have paid taxes for over seven decades. And my people are just like millions of other people in the United States.
Maria Giannuzzi August 30, 2012 at 05:37 pm
Well, Michael, I could say the same about you. But I didn't, did I?
Maria Giannuzzi August 30, 2012 at 05:46 pm
I gave you an out for your unfortunate attacks and you engage in more lies and provocation. You have become too boring, even for me, who can slog through many a thought-less comment.
Michael August 30, 2012 at 05:47 pm
again you deflect everything and never give a straight answer.
Michael August 30, 2012 at 05:51 pm
BY the way maria my boss has read your crap and knows what you are all about, we get a laugh thinking of how you have drank the Obama kool-aid
Maria Giannuzzi August 30, 2012 at 06:00 pm
I drink tea, Michael. So both you and your boss are reading my comments while at work? Gee, that doesn't sound too promising for the American economy. Do you think your boss would hire me? It sounds very cushy in your place of employment.
Michael August 30, 2012 at 06:07 pm
Well Maria we are employee benefits and we need to figure out this piece of shit new Obamacare, and so far what we are reading it looks like Uncle Sam will soon be taking over 1/6 of our economy. Then you can have all the public roads you want because it will be time to move to a better country where people hard work is not stolen by the government. What YOU don't get , its not about healthcare and roads and public schools, its about freedom of choice and the loss of liberty.
Bob B August 30, 2012 at 06:15 pm
No denial I see, just another change of the subject. At least you are consistent.
chris choinski August 30, 2012 at 06:22 pm
i did not change one thing you said
chris choinski August 30, 2012 at 06:25 pm
you want his crappy views? go watch 2016: obamas America. its showing at the plainville theater. its supposed to be a real eye opener for people like YOU, that drink his tea, since you dont drink koolaid and dont get the joke of koolaid. for me, i wont be surprised of his views that he is carrying on from his father with his communist views.
Robert Bracer August 30, 2012 at 06:26 pm
@Michael, just love reading your posts. It's a wonder you're even able to hold down a real job (unless you're lying like the Romney/Ryan duo). I guess you and your boss are both working in the rocket science field?
Maria Giannuzzi August 30, 2012 at 06:29 pm
I know it is a lot of work to understand the new requirements. Contact the Department of Labor or other government agency and ask them for a plain English explanation of the requirements for your particular business. Go online and Google the government agency that will administer the law. They should be able to provide you with an explanation of the requirements.
chris choinski August 30, 2012 at 06:31 pm
so you say reliably? but isnt all this green energy reliable? apparently not, because a tree hugger like you doesnt even think so. AND STOP CHANGING THE SUBJECT LIKE A CLASSIC LIBERAL.
but if you want to change the subject, he should also give up his NON TAXABLE travel expenses. then you have his entertainment espenses, and his expense account.
