Who Are "Mitts" Romney?

Who knew that there were 2 Mitt Romneys; or Mitts Romney?

On March 12, 1947 neither George nor Lenore Romney realized the birth of their son, Willard, was actually the birth of two sons: Mitt and Mitts.

While in utero, the precocious Mitts realized that being so identical would lead the two to have serious identity crises. Before they born, the two agreed that if Mitt took a position, Mitts would take the opposite point of view.

Both Mitts also understood that the only way to survive in the same house meant that only one Mitt could be present. Therefore, they agreed to merge into a single body, which contained within it two Mitts.

Both Mitts agreed to run for governor in 2002. Mitt 1 wanted to run for governor of Massachusetts; while Mitt 2 wanted to run for governor of Utah. Mitts had legitimate residency ties to both states.

The two Mitts agreed on Massachusetts with the understanding that they would divide the 4 year term in half. Mitt 1 would get to be governor for 2 years while Mitt 2 would take the helm for the last 2 years. If they agreed to run for public office again, Mitt 2 would be in charge first.

Mitt 1 ran the gubernatorial campaign by embracing positions that enraged Mitt 2. But what could Mitt 2 do? A deal was a deal and he would just have to wait his turn.

Mitt 1 publicly stated, “I believe that abortion should be safe and legal,” that he supported abortion since before the passage of Roe v. Wade. “I will respect and protect a woman’s right to choose.”  Mitt 1 also supported the morning after pill for rape victims who came into the emergency room.

Poor Mitt 2 suffered terribly but could do nothing about it He just had to wait his turn.

Mitt 1 banned assault weapons stating,”Assault weapons are instruments of destruction.”

Much to Mitt 2’s chagrin, Mitt 1 endorsed aggressive programs to reduce greenhouse gasses. “Coal kills people”, he said.

With regards to gays Mitt I said,” All citizens deserve equal rights regardless of sexual orientation.”

Mitt 2 thought his chance to run a state would never arrive. But it did. Even more important, Mitt 2 got to run for president of the United States.

As soon as he took over the reins of power, Mitt 2 began to radically change positions. First, he wanted to change the legality of same sex marriage in Massachusetts and supported an amendment to the Massachusetts constitution to prohibit same sex marriages.

Mitt 2 clearly and emphatically voiced his defense of 2nd amendment right. He rejected new gun control laws. “The answer to horrific acts of violence is changing the heart of the American people. Poor Mitt 1 was extremely disheartened.

Mitt 1 was extremely concerned that his credibility would be permanently wrecked when Mitt 2 criticized President Obama for making it more difficult to get coal out of the ground.  Mitt 2 did not support the development of the alternative energy sources that Mitt 1 had supported.

Mitt 1 started throwing tantrums screaming so loudly within Mitt 2 that Mitt 2 could no longer hear himself think without Mitt 1’s voice causing him to become confused.

Much to his, and his supporters chagrin, the Mitts merged and spoke in one confused garbled voice.

While the Mitts said they were for smaller government they also said, “If government just cuts spending you slow down the economy.”

The two Mitts attacked the Affordable Care Act while acknowledging that he was its father in Massachusetts.

But his big money supporters reminded Mitts, and especially Mitt 1, that for the sake of personal political gain he had to sacrifice his belief in the health of Americans; the health of the planet; his belief in equality for all Americans; gun control and a more secure America if he wished to become president.

Girl Power !!! Let's show those boys, who's really in charge.
Poll: Obama leads 18 points among women “It is also very difficult to win an election when you are getting shellacked among women, the group that makes up about half the electorate,” said Quinnipiac's assistant director Peter Brown in a release. http://www.politico.com/politico44/2012/10/poll-obama-leads-points-among-women-137200.html?hp=l6

Obama's had a full term. You can't blame Bush anymore. He's failed.
Romney has the same positions as Obama on all the major issues from healthcare/RomneyCare/ObamaCare (Romney has just announced he will keep preexisting conditions and healthcare until your 27), oversea warmongering, deficit spending, supporting of tarps and bailouts, budget (Ryan's budget has almost identical projected increases as Obama's), Patriot Act, NDAA, NSA and the TSA criminals (that's who they hire folks, don't blame me for pointing it out) feeling up your daughters and grandmothers at the airports, train stations and bus terminals near you. The choice is clear, NEITHER WILL DO and a vote for either will give you exactly what you deserve.
Bill October 2, 2012 at 09:20 pm
Cornick, which years of grid lock are you talking about? The last two under Bush where the Dems held the house and senate? Or the first two of Obamaloneys when the dems held everything?
MrsSmithWatchingWashington October 2, 2012 at 09:36 pm
And to think Bill Clinton had a chance to take Bin Laden out in 1998, I think, and didn't bother to. Think how many lives would have been saved.

Hey Janet, so you as an "old fart', your words not mine, don't benefit from those social programs like Medicare and Social Security?
Remember Janet, it’s only a handout when it benefits someone else. If it benefits you then you’ve obviously “earned it
Bill October 2, 2012 at 09:47 pm
Interesting, Robin Hood can post about Mitts "dog on the car roof" and it stays, I point out in response that Obama ate one, and it keeps coming down, interesting.
Think Positive October 2, 2012 at 09:50 pm
You can't blame Bush anymore. Really?? Are you kidding me?
Wake up. Hey, by the way, has anyone seen George W? George, George come out wherever you are.
Think Positive October 2, 2012 at 10:19 pm
So, let's see Bill.
Barack Hussein Obama ate dog once when he was 9 years old. That's right he was 9 years old, not even at the age of puberty. A boy, yup a boy, not even a young man and most definitely not a grown man, and he ate dog. OMG, say it isnt' soooo. Versus...... Willard Mitt Romney, 30 something, fully grown man, puts the family pet/dog on the roof of the car for 12 +/- hours and then says the dog liked it. Bet most you didn't know that Willard Mitt Romney was also a dog whisper, for the Willard says the dog "Liked It". Okay, so let's see which one of these 2 actions do you think reveals more about the man? Oh, but wait, one was only a boy..... Uh Oh.....Bill, now what????

Janet, Good News. No need to worry about poor old George W. Hey, he might even be able to come out hiding soon.!!!!!!
"There's a poll out that finds the Republican candidate for president, Mitt Romney, is less popular than George W. Bush... Bush's favorables are also higher than Joe Biden, Paul Ryan and the Republican Party." http://caffertyfile.blogs.cnn.com/2012/10/01/what-does-it-mean-for-mitt-romney-if-hes-less-popular-than-george-w-bush/

Jim, wait till you read this....... Say it isn't so.......
There's a poll out that finds the Republican candidate for president, Mitt Romney, is less popular than George W. Bush For starters Romney and his campaign have done everything in their power to try to make Americans forget about George W. Bush and his eight years in office. Romney avoids mentioning the former president's name, and Bush was nowhere to be seen at the GOP Convention in Tampa. That's because for many Americans Bush's presidency brings back bad memories of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the dismal response of the federal government to Hurricane Katrina, the conditions that allowed the financial crisis of 2008 to happen and on and on. http://caffertyfile.blogs.cnn.com/2012/10/01/what-does-it-mean-for-mitt-romney-if-hes-less-popular-than-george-w-bush/ Anyone seen George W????

Not that Dog thing again......
Former Romney Classmate Describes ‘Bullying Supreme’ – A ‘Pack of Dogs’ Who Targeted ‘Different’ Boy ...witnessed Romney hold the scissors to cut the hair of a student who was being physically pinned to the ground by several others. Hey, but Barack Hussein Obama ate dog when he was 9 years old...... So what, Romney was an agressive, to say the least, bully in high school. That's says nothing about the young man.... http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/05/former-romney-classmate-describes-bullying-supreme-a-pack-of-dogs-who-targeted-differentboy/

Thomas and TP are right!
IT'S STILL BUSH'S FAULT! When does it stop being Bush's fault? Will it stop if Obama gets another 4 years? What a convenient excuse! You can just drag it out of the freezer, zap it in the microwave and use it anytime you need it. Get cornered? Can't explain it away? Obama has no defense? Just drag it out, brush it off, and say "IT'S BUSH'S FAULT!" That's all there is too it. When you support Obama, it's just so easy because at anytime you can just yell.... HEY! IT'S GRIDLOCK! HEY! IT'S BUSH'S FAULT! You two are pathetic...

Transcript of ROMNEY comments from back in May: "I’m actually gonna — I’m not familiar precisely with exactly what I said, but I stand by what I said, whatever it was."

Who said what on Capitol Hill ( with a nod to Avi)
"The truth is relative. Truth is what you can make the voter believe is the truth. If your smart enough, truth is what you make the voter think it is." Three guesses

What troubles me the most is how people squabble over personality traits, appearances, and other idiosyncrasies, while seemingly ignoring the big picture.
How do you want your government run? Do you want your government to make more decisions for you, or to decide where your money is spent? Do you want a small number of people to make centralized decisions on most major issues? How about debt? Does the need of programs outweigh our ability to pay for them? Would you like to see the role of government increase in your lifetime? Or Do you believe that people should have more responsibility for themselves? Do you want to decide where and how your money is spent? Do you trust your fellow citizens to do the same? With less federal involvement, would you do your part to help less fortunate people? Would you like the role of government to decrease in your lifetime? Neither of the major parties is perfect, but one is leaning toward smaller, less intrusive government, and the other would like to see government expand further into our lives. No one person controls everything, but when you put the President, The House and the Senate together, you have a very powerful force that will influence how your country is run. Look at the big picture, and decide what you want for yourself, your family, your community and your Country. Don’t vote for personalities, vote for what you believe in.
George October 3, 2012 at 08:55 pm
You should check the context in which James Carville made those comments.
John Yannacci, Sr. October 3, 2012 at 09:33 pm
Jane,
If you look back, you'll see that Obama was against gay marriage until he discovered it was a formidable voting bloc so then he became in favor of it. Does that meet your definition of having different opinions of every subject?
George October 3, 2012 at 10:01 pm
They wanted to run somebody more capable than Obama but they just couldn't find one!
George October 3, 2012 at 10:03 pm
Blumenthal NEVER said he served in Vietnam.
John Yannacci, Sr. October 3, 2012 at 10:10 pm
Hold on Andrew. Why is it that the Democrats/liberals never want to accept the fact that many Democrats voted to invade Iraq but now you say that it's both Democrats and Republicans endangering our troops?
Bill October 3, 2012 at 10:45 pm
Here's the full quote, not really sure how context makes a difference, but that's always the excuse the dems make for Obama when he says something unconscionable.
"The truth is relative. Truth is what you can make the voter believe is the truth. If your smart enough, truth is what you make the voter think it is. That's why I'm a democrat. I can make the democratic voters think whatever I want them to."

Politics - noun. A strife of interests masquerading as a contest of principles. The conduct of public affairs for private advantage.
Rod October 4, 2012 at 10:43 am
Bill's quote is from James Carville (1996), from his book "We're right, They're Wrong". But if the point is 'it's deplorable' .. it's also real.
The BIG Banks and BIG Corporations who have invested BILLIONS have polluted the elections. It's become like a choice between Coke (or is spelled 'Koch') and Pepsi ... No matter how much they advertise, over and over again, how refreshing they are ... end of the day ... same flavor and each equally UNHEALTHY for 99.99% of us. Search Alabama Governor "Don Siegelman" .. and how in March 2006 the Judge Struck down a indictment and how Karl Rove persisted. More than 100 former State Attorney Generals joined a petition to overturn what the American Trial Lawyers Association calls "political prisoner #1" Search "fired federal prosecutors, Dec 7 2006, December 4, 2006 email." Search "ohio election fraud 2004" Everyone should be concerned that such injustice is becoming the new normal in a nation that once prided itself on its fairness and rule of law. Check out http://www.democracynow.org/2012/8/31/top_gop_strategist_karl_rove_loses

Bill October 4, 2012 at 12:07 pm
Rod, actually the point is the cynical view of the average member of the democrat party, and for that matter the average citizen, held by the democrat party elite. They really do see themselves as the ruling class, the elite.
Bill October 4, 2012 at 09:31 pm
Who are the Mitts Romney? Well they're the guy/guys who schooled president Obama last night in how to debate and how to look presidential. I think Barry was taking notes too judging by the amount of time he spent staring at his podium.
