Stamp Out Hunger in Cheshire

Letter carriers to collect groceries on Saturday for Cheshire Community Food Pantry.

The 20th annual "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive will be held tomorrow, Saturday, May 12, in Cheshire.

The pantry has listed the items it most needs to help the local 200 families it serves:

  • Instant boxed potatoes
  • salad dressing
  • canned fruit
  • canned meats (ham, chicken) 
  • cake mixes
  • salt, pepper, seasonings and spices
  • raisins
  • jellies and jams
  • mayonnaise
  • juice mix/drinks/boxes
  • pancake mix/syrup
  • honey
  • cookies and crackers

Perishable items such as dairy, fresh produce and meats, as well as sugar-free products are welcome as are non-food items such as:

  • plastic wrap, aluminum foil
  • cleaning products
  • paper goods and paper towels
  • personal care products (soap, shampoo, feminine products, deodorant)
  • toothpaste, toothbrushes
  • laundry detergent

To be part of the "Stamp out Hunger" event, place food and non-grocery items in a bag and put it near your mailbox on Saturday morning before your mail is delivered.

Your letter carrier will collect the food and bring it directly to the Cheshire Community Food Pantry.
