Cheshire Clothing Boutique to Close

The Source Clothing Company to close this summer.

After just two years in business, the Source Clothing Company will close its doors this summer, owner Scott Toth announced in an email.

"I am going to be putting up signs next week that we are moving the store. Our lease ends at the end of August, but I may close it (sooner) if we move enough merchandise prior to that," Toth wrote.

Toth and store manager Bill Procanik, who are both from Cheshire, opened the store in a highly visible corner location in Maplecroft Plaza on Highland Avenue in November, 2010.

Source was defined as an "off-price boutique" which offered samples and overstocks. "We're selling off-price and hitting the junior high and teen market," Toth said when the store opened.

The store's 1,800 feet of retail space were just steps from an entrance road and next to the Bank of America. The location had been empty for about two years after Cheshire Video closed.

In an email to Southington Patch, Procancik said the store may move to the Main Street area of that town, possibly into the vacant Southington Citizen location.
