Ford Recalling 10,000 SUVs

The company found carpets could interfere with abiity to stop vehicle.

Ford Motor Co., is recalling 10,000 newly redesigned Escapes due to carpet padding issues that could limit braking of the SUV.

The padding, the automaker has found, creates crowding around the brake and gas pedals of its 2013 Escape and could force a driver to hit the brake pedal on one side only instead of straight-on, according to a report on the Huffington Post.

Ford has reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that dealers will make improvements to the vehicle for free.
