The iconic sign atop Richard Chevrolet is about to be replaced as part of a major renovation project for the dealesrhip that has been a business anchor on north Highland Avenue for more than three decades.
Employee Frank Gaudio reports the existing showroom is about to be dismantled as the upgrade gears up in the next few week.
In an article last fall on Cheshire Patch, owners Marianne and Richard Jaffe said the large red Chevy on the roof of the showroom will be saved. "We may hang it in the service area on the wall. It's kind of retro – it's cool," Marianne Jaffe said.
The dealership was built on six acres of farmland once owned by the DeVylder family, the Jaffes said. The company has 60 full-time employees.
