P&Z to Hear Final Development Plans for Outlets at Cheshire

Next month WS Development will present its final development plans for the project that is expected to get underway next year.

The Cheshire Planning and Zoning Commission has scheduled Jan. 13 as the date it will accept the final development plans for the Outlets at Cheshire.

With the initial zoning approvals in place, the developer, WS Development doing business as Cheshire Route 10 LLC, now must get approval for the final development plans that will outline in detail what will happen to the property on Route 10 near the junction at Route 691.

As one of the largest projects in the town's history, the plans call for 635,000 square feet of retail space in additional to residential units. No stores have yet been announced for the development but it is expected to include major retailers, a grocery stores and restaurants.

Both Planning and Zoning and the Cheshire Inland Wetlands Commission have approved the initial plans. Construction is expected to begin next year for a 2015 opening.
