Significant Trade in Cheshire-based Alexion Stock
Thousands of shares of stock sold by board member of Alexion Pharmaceuticals Inc.
An independent member of the Board of Directors for Pharmaceuticals sold more than 3,000 shares of stock on Monday, according to MMD Newswire.
Over the past year, director Andreas Rummelt has sold a total of 9,015 shares of Alexion stock for $622,125, MMD Newswire notes. It also reports that Rummult exercised stock options in the past year as well.
According to filings with the federal Securities and Exchange Commission, as reported by MMD, other individuals connected with Alexion have sold a total of 978,076 shares of Alexion in the past 12 months. Those sales totaled $77.2 million.

In December, Alexion reported that it would purchase Enobia Pharma Corp. of Montreal for $610 million in cash, according to a statement. The two companies expect the transaction will be completed in the first quarter of 2012.
