Visions for Vacancies: Replacing the Auto Repair on Highland Avenue

There's a large space available along Highland Avenue at a former auto repair store - what's the best fit to rejuvenate the location?

Along Highland Avenue, one industrial property sits not too far from Interstate 84 and contains plenty of space and potential. So if you could have anything, what would you build in the spot?

Let's call this a modern spin on community planning - Patch's version of a charette, a digital drawing board where all ideas are on the table.

Each week we'll present a new vacant building and ask you to tell us what you think would be the best use. Forget what zone it's in, ignore setback regulations, dump lot coverage rules and all the other zoning jargon that puts people most to sleep. If you had your way, what would you like to see there? What would be the best use for the community?

The former auto repair location at 1573 Highland Ave. in Cheshire has many possible uses, according to Loopnet.com, but ultimately we are leaving the best use up for you to decide.

The 7,750 square foot space is going for $395,000 and includes 1.04 acres of property, so parking should not be an issue.

The question now, what to build there. So what's the best use for this property?

Tell Us: What you think would be the best fit for the empty storefront on West Main Street?
