New Haven, CT (February 3, 2014)… The Town of Cheshire recently appointed Murtha Cullina partner Alfred E. Smith, Jr. as Town Attorney.
Attorney Smith succeeds Murtha Cullina Partner Dwight Johnson, who had served as Cheshire’s Town Attorney since 2006. Attorney Smith currently chair’s the firm’s Regulatory Department and is co-chair of the Municipal Practice Group. He has also been a member of the firm’s Environmental Practice Group since 1986. He is a former Managing Partner of Murtha Cullina.
The Municipal Law Practice Group of Murtha Cullina LLP includes attorneys with experience that extend to virtually every type of legal service required by a municipality. At present, the firm serves as special counsel and/or town attorney to approximately 40 municipalities in Connecticut. The firm also serves as general counsel or town attorney for seven Connecticut municipalities.
