Stay ahead of Fluid Loss when Exercising in Warm Weather

Stay hydrated when exercising in warm weather

Fluid loss from exercise increases as the weather gets warmer.  The American Council on Exercise recommends:

  • Drinking 17-20 ounces of water 2 hours before exercise begins
  • Drink 7-10 ounces of water every 10-20 minutes during exercise, or more if you are really sweating.
  • Afterward, drink 16-24 ounces for every pound of weight loss that occurs during exercise.
