Strength training is important when trying to lose weight.

Strength Training while attempting to lose weight is important because:

  • when you lose weight, up to 25% of the loss may come from muscle.  Strength training preserves or increases muscle so more weight loss comes from fat.
  • muscle keeps your metabolism revved up - burning more calories even at rest.
