A sure sign of fall in New England: fairs! The Wolcott Country Fair kicks off the season this weekend, Friday through Sunday. Get the family in at a bargain price of just $5 each on Saturday and Sunday if you arrive before 4 p.m. ($7 per person after 4). Seniors are always $5, and ages 10 and under are admitted free! Enjoy the animals, arts and crafts, agricultural displays, rides, midway, music, food and more.

Wait no longer: early varieties of apples are now ripening and should be ready for picking this weekend!  plans to open Saturday as long as the crop is ready. Picking your own is not only fun, but saves money!

Entertainment Under the Stars the town's summer outdoor concert and film series, concludes Thursday with a showing of the family friendly movie “Despicable Me”. The movie begins at dusk, and runs approximately 8-9:30 p.m. at Amphitheatre. Bring a blanket or chairs. Free!
