With a ghoulish outlook on Halloween celebrations, parents were gleeful to find out about a quickly organized "Trunk or Treat" event that was held at Bartlem Park on Monday afternoon.

"Trunk or Treat" is an increasingly popular event that allows children to trick or treat from car to car in a safe, well-lit location. Parents hand out candy from their trunk which is often decorated with a Halloween theme. Local organizer Karen Telese said she got the idea after she attending similar events in other towns.

Word of the event was announced on Facebook, writes Telese. "Approximatley 150 families showed up for a quickly organized event that was spread on Facebook. I made the original post around 12 noon (Monday) with the idea, and five hours later, hundreds showed up for an unbelievable night for everyone involved," Telese told Cheshire Patch.
