Hostess Brands Bankruptcy Threatens Jobs in Cheshire

The company, which employees 187 people in Connecticut, is seeking union contract modifications.

Unemployment in has been , but the bankruptcy of Hostess Brands could cost jobs here if the company doesn’t come out of Chapter 11.

According to an article in the New Haven Register, the Texas-based parent company notified its Connecticut workers that a total of 187 jobs in Cheshire, Bridgeport, East Windsor, Norwich and Montville could be at stake if union contracts are not modified.

Hostess Brands makes and distributes snacks and bakery products under the Hostess, Dolly Madison and Drake’s brand names.
