Joshua Komisarjevsky Sentenced to Death

The convicted killer joins his accomplice on death row.

Joshua Komisarjevsky was sentenced to death on Friday for his involvement in a 2007 home invasion in Cheshire that left three people dead.

According to CBS News, Komisarjevsky blamed his accomplice, Steven Hayes, and expressed regrets about that night that turned deadly.

The sentencing, which was earlier recommended by a jury, concluded two long trials that subjected jurors to grim evidence including charred beds, rope used to tie up the family and autopsy photos. The 2007 attack led to the defeat of a bill to outlaw the death penalty in Connecticut and sparked tougher state laws for repeat offenders and home invasions.
