The holidays can be a difficult time for anyone who is grieving, or for anyone experiencing loss or transition of any kind. The whole world seems joyful and ready to celebrate, while those who grieve feel like their whole world is lost to them, or turned upside down.

To address the needs of grieving people, Cheshire’s First Congregational Church annually conducts a “Quiet Christmas” service open to all.  This year’s service, led by the Rev. Alison McCaffrey, will be held on Thursday, December 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the church, located on the Green in the center of Cheshire.

The service welcomes the Christ Child into our midst in a deeply meaningful but subdued way.  It is for anyone who has experienced a loss of any kind.  We invite you to gather in the company of those who, more than ever, need God's word of hope and strength, and who need to hear the angels sing.

Parking is available behind the church.  For more information, call the church office at 203-272-5323.
