Hamden resident Stephanie Brown-Singley has remained upbeat during the past nine months despite trying times. She’s been diagnosed with stage four colon cancer and is determined to fight.
The community has come together to help Brown-Singley. Eileen Williams-Esdaile created a GoFundMe project to raise funds for rising medical expenses. Brown-Singley is a single mom of two. She has an adult daughter and son Alden is a high school senior, soon to be heading to college.
The project was created on Dec. 3. As of Dec. 12, it exceeded its goal of $2,000, thanks to the community donating $3,290.
“Stephanie is now at a point where she really needs assistance, whether it be a ride to an appointment for herself or her son, a cooked meal, etc.,” Williams-Esdaile wrote on the GoFundMe page. “It is now that she needs her support system, she needs us… Alden will be heading off to college in the fall and senior year comes with a lot of extra expenses, and your help no matter how small or large will be greatly appreciated to help offset rising medical bills and the day to day expenses.”
