The 38th Annual Cheshire Food Drive

Cheshire's 38th Annual Food Drive will take place Saturday, November 5 and Sunday November 6 on the green in front of  on the green.

Volunteers will collect donations at Stop & Shop grocery store, Everybody's Market, and on the green from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Checks made to the "Cheshire Food Drive" are also welcome.

This year's goal is to surpass the 35,000 food items collected in 2010. All of donated food items will be given to the

The pantry serves Cheshire families and accepts referrals from the Cheshire Department of Human Services.

Monetary are used to purchase food vouchers, which are disbursed by the for residents to use for items not available at the pantry.

Donations to the Cheshire Food Drive, a registered non-profit charitable organization, are tax deductible.

Checks can be dropped off at the food drive on the green or mailed to The Cheshire Food Drive, P.O. Box 926 Cheshire CT. 06410.

Ninety-eight cents of every dollar donated goes directly to support the Cheshire Food Voucher Program. 

Suggested items to donate to the Cheshire Food Drive are:

  • Granola bars, (snacks for school) 
  • peanut butter
  • Cereal
  • Canned Fruit
  • Flour 
  • Sugar/Spices 
  • Ketchup/Mustard/Mayonnaise 
  • Coffee/Tea/Cocoa 
  • Stews
  • Tomato Products 
  • Juice Products/Juice Boxes 
  • Cookies/Crackers
  • Raisins
  • Canned and or Powered Milk 
  • Canned Meat/Tuna Fish
