The Hamden-North Haven League of Women Voters will hold a “Breakfast with the Legislators” Saturday, Jan. 26 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn in North Haven at 201 Washington Ave. (please note new location). “We hope many people come to have breakfast with their elected representative,” said Aldrich, Chair of Voter Services for the Hamden-North Haven League. “You acquire a different feel about what goes on in the state legislature after you have had a breakfast with the person who represents you in Hartford,” she adds.

The League of Women Voters works on the local, state, and national levels to increase understanding of public policy issues, to encourage informed and active participation in government, and through education and advocacy to influence public policy. The League neither supports nor opposes candidates for political office and welcomes as members individuals of all political persuasions.

The historic League of Women Voters name has not deterred men from joining in League work, since 1974. Several local Leagues Connecticut are currently headed by men. The League is active in all 50 states.

The Hamden-North Haven League of Women Voters welcomes new members. Discuss joining with Elona Vaisnys, Membership, at 203/248-8035 or email elvais@comcast.net
