Family, friends and neighbors of Dr. Mel Goldstein gathered at Monday to join town officials in the unveiling of the longtime resident and WTNH meteorologist.

After retiring from Channel 8's Storm Team last summer, the meteorologist gave his in November.
The memorial bench at the town beach was a gift to the town from Goldstein's wife, Arlene, who along with their daughter, Laura, was also at this morning's ceremony.
