Cheshire Obituaries: Elizabeth Treuting, 93

Services for the Cheshire resident are Wednesday.




Elizabeth Treuting, 93, passed away Saturday Jan. 25, 2014 at her home. She was the wife of the late Henry H. Treuting Sr.

Mrs. Treuting was born Jan. 15, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Byron and Elizabeth (Collins) Stevens. She was employed by the former Dupont Television in New Jersey until her retirement in 1970.  

She was active in numerous social groups such as the tennis club at Copper Valley; the Lady Falcons in Southington and the “Old Stitch and Bitch” Club. She was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed playing golf, with family and friends.

Mrs. Treuting is survived by her her daughter, Barbara DeRosa and her husband Michael and granddaughter Christina, with whom she made her home in Cheshire; her son Henry H. Treuting Jr. and his girlfriend Shawn Sinclair of Chester, as well as her grandchildren Christine and Margaret Treuting.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday Jan. 29 at 10 a.m. at St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire.  Friends are asked to meet directly at church.  Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.  Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St.
