Cheshire Obituaries: Jeanne Rogers, 58

Jeanne (Hann) Rogers, 58, passed away Saturday Nov. 16, 2013 at her home.  She was the wife of James Rogers.

Jeanne was born Oct. 11, 1955, the daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (Walsh) Hann.  She was a longtime Cheshire resident, where she was employed at Happy Times Nursery School.  She was a beloved member of the Cheshire Academy community where she served as a dorm parent for six years, as well as a staff member of the Health Center.

Besides her husband of 26 years, Jeanne is survived by her sons Jack and Patrick, both of Cheshire; her brother Paul Hann of Salem, CT; her sisters Mary Vendetto of New London, Kathleen Alquist and her husband Roger of Quaker Hill, CT and Patricia Calcagni of Groton.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday Nov. 23, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire.  Friends are asked to meet directly at church.  After the service, everyone is invited to gather at Bowden Hall, on the campus of Cheshire Academy, to celebrate Jeanne’s life.  Burial will be held at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours.  

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115.  The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. is assisting with arrangements.
