Patch Poll: Should Circus Animal Acts Be Banned?

As the Cole Brothers Circus returns to Meriden many are concerned about animal welfare.

This week the Cole Bros. Circus of the Stars returned to Meriden for three days but some area residents . Specifically, they say circus animal acts should be outlawed because they are harmful to both the animals and the public.

In the last few years, Cole Bros. has been cited for several violations of the Animal Welfare Act. In addition to mistreatment of the animals, the citations involve incidents where animals were improperly supervised, putting the public at risk.

Do you think the government should ban circus animal acts? Take our Patch poll and let us know. Then tell us why in the comments.
