Patch's Poll: Does Malloy Deserve to be in the Top Five of Least-Liked Governors?

Does Malloy deserve to hold this title? Only 33 percent of voters in a recent PPP poll approve of the job that the governor of Connecticut is doing, according to the New Haven Register.

Gov. Dannel Malloy has one of the worst approval ratings among U.S. governors in a poll conducted by Public Policy Polling, according to the New Haven Register.

A statement released by the organization shows that 33 percent of voters approved of him while 51 percent of voters disapproved. Only North Carolina Gov. Bev Perdue, Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie, Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn and Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett of Pennsylvania had worse ratings.

Only 52 percent of Democrats, 25 percent of Independents and 15 percent of Republicans approve of the job Malloy has been doing since elected into office. Malloy advisor Roy Occhiogrosso told the Register that the governor "always tries to do what he thinks is in the best interests of the people of Connecticut" despite his approval rating.. Forty-four percent of voters approved of his performance, while 45 percent of voters disapproved. This poll gave him the highest approval rating in a Quinnpiac poll since taking office in January 2011.

A Stamford Democrat is an Oxymoron. He has a vendetta against Teachers starting with the Vo-Tech system and then progressing on to the entire educational system in CT. Do you realize how many teachers, teachers aides, administrators and their families there are that wont vote for him. Then add all the state employee's especially the State Correctional Guards and the State Police and their families. Of course he will will get the criminal vote for the early release program.

He could become the worse Gov. this state ever had. He ran on a ticket of raining in the Unions and addressing Gov. benefits reform. He caved in with the Unions and got almost nothing from them. He also did nothing meaningful about the over inflated, ridiculous state Gov. pensions and benefits. Don't even get me started on CT Gov spending and waste. He did give us the largest tax increase in CT history though. He said the record tax increase would make the state solvent. We would see a surplus, but after his election, before the end of the 1st quarter, his office came out and said we they were already deeper in debt than planned and it would be getting worse. So either he and his administration lied or they are extremely incompetent. He said he wanted to help small and private business. When he had a chance to do just that in Meriden, with the multiple school renovations, once again he sided with the Unions and Not small and private business. There is an old west saying "Big Hat, No Cattle". That's Malloy. He talks big but does not deliver.

You "don't think we'll ever know" the "truth" about Malloy's job performance? You've got to be kidding! "By their fruits ye shall know them." These are some of the "fruits" of the Malloy administration, besides the aforesaid flight of TAXPAYERS and job creators to other states: 1) The state's credit rating has been downgraded substantially under Malloy. 2) The state budget deficits are so high, because of overspending and Malloy's refusal to downsize state government, that they are having to BORROW to pay daily operating expenses! http://www.ctpost.com/news/article/State-running-out-of-cash-officials-say-3655452.php#ixzz1yopfgF3W 3) "CNBC released its annual business ratings this week [July 11, 2012]. Connecticut did not fare well, falling into the bottom 10 states overall." http://gov.cbia.com/inside_the_capitol/article/state-falls-in-annual-business-ratings

This article says, "Malloy advisor Roy Occhiogrosso told the Register that the governor "always tries to do what he thinks is in the best interests of the people of Connecticut" despite his approval rating." What an outright lie!!! Malloy has done nothing of the sort. He has only done things that benefit selected groups within his political party. If he actually cared about the people of CT as a whole and was trying to do what was in our best interest he would have never signed the largest tax increase in state history, he would have promoted policies that actually help to grow the economy, not those that continue to hurt the economy! CT is one of the most business unfriendly states in the country with a ranking of 44th (first link below), has the highest tax burden in the country and is considered the worst state to retire to (second link), and according to the Institute for Truth in Accounting is in the "worst financial position of all 50 states" (last link). Malloy is arguably the worst Governor we have had in decades! http://www.cnbc.com/id/46413845 http://finance.yahoo.com/news/pf_article_113611.html http://truthinaccounting.org/state-of-states/2010_statereport_connecticut.pdf

Malloy is the WORST Gov since Mr CT Income tax. Passing the largest tax increase is CT history while CT sits in a 20+ year recession.
