Cheshire Police Blotter: A Lesson for Illegal Drivers

Motorists driving illegally kept police busy over the weekend, with two cases leading to charges beyond infractions according to the latest from the town's police blotter. Take a look at the latest arrest logs.

The Cheshire Police Department reported the following arrests:

April 18


John Melius, 24, of 23 Carriage Drive in Cheshire, was charged with possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to have tail lamps lit and operating a motor vehicle without a license, April 18.

Krystal Wilson, 26, of 59 Cheshire Road in Meriden, was charged with traveling unreasonably fast, operating a motor vehicle under suspension and failure to display plates, April 18.

April 21

Gabriel John Smiles, 29, of 57 Wharton Brook Drive in Wallingford, was charged with failure to display plates, altering or counterfeiting license plates, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to insure motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle under suspension, April 21.

Other stats from reported traffic stops and incidents:

  • Three people were cited with simple trespassing.
  • Two people were cited with operating a motor vehicle under suspension.
  • One person was cited with operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
