Cheshire Police Blotter: Drive Under the Influence and You Will Get Caught

The following arrest information was provided by the Cheshire Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

If you are driving under the influence, you will get caught.

It's not just the motto for the Connecticut State Police, but the theme of today's arrest logs in Cheshire where several motorists are facing charges following traffic stops that ended in driving under the influence or operating under the influence arrests.

The Cheshire Police Department reported the following arrests:

April 23


Charles R. Schappert, 30, of 10 Artizan St. in Meriden, was charged with improper signals while turning or stopping, failure to drive to the right and driving under the influence, April 23.

Alexis M. Boyarsky, 20, of 41 Oak Ridge Drive in Bethany, was charged with criminal violation of a protective order, April 23.

April 24

Joseph David George, 20, of no given address in Southington, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, possession of less than four ounces of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, April 24.

Other stats from reported traffic stops and incidents:

  • Two people were cited with operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
  • One person was cited with using a cell phone while driving.
  • One person was cited with operating a motor vehicle without a license.
  • One person was cited with speeding/traveling too fast.
  • One person was cited with a seat belt violation.
  • One person was cited with failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
  • One person was cited with failure to obey traffic signal.
