Cheshire Police Blotter: DUI Arrests

The following information was provided by the Cheshire Police Department. Inclusion on this list does not indicate a conviction.

Cheshire Police have made several arrests recently for driving under the influence.

They include:

— On July 8 Paul Puhalla Jr, 30, of 66 Cedar Lane, Cheshire, was charged with operating under the influence, driving in the right lane and failure to illuminate tail lights/license plate after he was pulled over near Eastgate Drive and Burnt Hollow at about 11:45 p.m. He was released on a promise to appear in court on July 28.

— On July 7 Deepa Ganesan, 23, of 151 Old Towne Road, Cheshire, was charged with driving under the influence after someone reported that he had been driving while impaired. He is due to appear in court on July 19.

—Also on July 7 Timothy Sean Christ, 37, of Virginia Beach, VA, was charged with operating under the influence after someone reported that a silver BMW was driving erratically near the Stop and Shop parking lot. Christ was arrested in the Citgo parking lot near the store. He posted $1,000 bond and was arraigned the next day in court.

— On July 6 Jose Gonzalez, 45, of 884 Highland Ave., Cheshire, was charged with driving under the influence and illegal possession of narcotics after he was stopped on Highland Avenue. He is due to appear in court July 19.

— On June 29 Christopher Matthew Hill Jr., 20, of New Britain, was charged with operating under the influence and improper signaling when he was pulled over getting on I-84 eastbound at about 2:30 p.m. He is due to appear in court on Aug. 20.

— On June 26 Christopher Michael Moran, 25, of Wallingford was charged with operating under the influence. He posted $1,000 bond and was arraigned July 10 in court.

— On June 23 Christina Janice Lillian Ritchie, 19, of 1130 Coleman Road, Cheshire, was charged with operating while under the influence and reckless driving after allegedly striking a post on Old Towne Road. She was arraigned July 8 in court.

— On June 24 Frederick Joseph Ward, 56, of New Britain, was charged with operating under the influence after "he was found intoxicated in the driver's seat of a running car," according to police reports. He posted $1,000 bond.
