Cheshire Police Blotter: Traffic Stop Ends in Drug Charges

The following arrest information was provided by the Cheshire Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A motor vehicle stop this week led police to discover a Cheshire man in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to a release from the police department. Take a look back at the latest arrest logs.

The Cheshire Police Department reported the following arrests:

April 17

Andrew Charles Wilcox, 26, of 15 Sorghum Mill Drive in Cheshire, was charged with evading responsibility in an accident, driving under the influence and operating a motor vehicle without a license, April 17.

April 18

John Melius, 24, of 23 Carriage Drive in Cheshire, was charged with possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to have tail lamps lit and operating a motor vehicle without a license, April 18.

Other stats from reported traffic stops and incidents:

  • One person was cited with operating a motor vehicle under suspension.
  • One person was cited with operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
  • One person was cited with improper passing with an unsafe distance.
