Cheshire Police Blotter: Two Arrested in Theft Cases

The following arrest information was provided by the Cheshire Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police this week reported two arrests from unrelated burglary and larceny cases, including the arrest of a Meriden man who was allegedly involved in a series of scrap metals thefts over a four month period in 2012. Take a look back at the latest arrests.

The Cheshire Police Department reported the following arrests:

April 9

Joseph Gonzalez, 20, of 884 Highland Ave. in Cheshire, was charged with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny, April 9.

April 10

Matthew Matteis, 28, of 155 Franklin St. in Meriden, was charged with six counts of tampering with a motor vehicle, four counts of third-degree larceny, four counts of first-degree criminal mischief, four counts of third-degree criminal trespassing, two counts of second-degree criminal mischief, two counts of sixth-degree larceny and one count of conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny, April 10.

Other stats from reported traffic stops and incidents:

  • One person was cited with possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana.
