Cheshire Police to Conduct DUI Checkpoint Ahead of Thanksgiving Holiday

If you are on the road on Nov. 21 you may come across a police checkpoint in town.

The Cheshire Police Department's traffic division will be conducting a DUI checkpoint in town on Wednesday, Nov. 21.

Police did not specify in a news release where the checkpoint would be, but they did say it would be happening between the hours of 5 p.m. and 1 a.m.

Nov. 21 is the night before Thanksgiving, which is often known as the most popular bar night of the year.

"Police will be looking for impaired drivers, seatbelt compliance and various equipment issues," the release said. "Motorists may experience a brief delay while going through the checkpoint."

The Cheshire Police remind people to buckle up and not drink and drive.
