Cheshire resident John Tejada, who served as a fencing coach at Fairfield Warde and Fairfield Ludlowe high schools between 2010 and 2012, was arrested on a warrant Thursday for second-degree sexual assault, according to police.

The arrest stems from an incident that occurred in 2012, where Tejada, 36, of 615 Mixville Road, allegedly sexually assaulted a student, police said. Details of the alleged assault were not immediately available.

Tejada was released on a $150,000 bond. Tejada was placed on administrative leave from the Fairfield Board of Education on Feb. 23 and resigned shortly after that, according to police.

Tejada also served as a fencing coach at Wakeman’s Boys and Girls Club in Southport and primary coach at the Fairfield Fencing Academy.
