Holiday Weekend DUI Checkpoint [UPDATE]

The Cheshire Police Department plans checkpoint Friday night.

Cheshire Police Department spokesman Lt. James Fasano said they will hold DUI checkpoint tonight from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. 

"We will be checking for impaired drivers and occupant restraint use," Fasano wrote in an email.

On Friday, Fasano said the checkpoint could be located state Rts. 10 or 68/70 (Highland Ave., South Main Street, West Main Street Waterbury Road, Academy Road). He said the location is moved to a new site at some point during the eight hour checkpoint event.

During the July 4th holiday weekend, the checkpoint was held on South Main Street near Everybody's market where one driver was arrested for DUI.
