New Police Officer Hired in Cheshire

Newest police officer will begin field training on August 22

Vincienzo Balcastro, 26, of Ansonia has been hired as the newest Cheshire Police officer, according to Police Chief Neil Dryfe.

Balcastro will be sworn into office on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Cheshire Police Department.

The appointment of Balcastro fills a vacancy left by the retirement of Sgt. Phil Giampietro.
