PD: Man Drove 90 mph While Under the Influence on Cheshire Road

Wallingford resident Jordan Torla was arrested this week after police said he was driving twice the posted speed limit on Yalesville Road.

 

A Wallingford man is facing a number of charges after police said he was driving at a high rate of speed while under the influence of drugs or alcohol on Dec. 23.

Jordan M. Torla, 21, 15 Buttonwood Circle, was pulled over at 2:17 a.m. on Yalesville Road, also known as Route 68, near the town line with Wallingford, police said.

Police said they clocked him going 90 mph on a road where the posted speed limit is 45 mph.

Torla was charged with reckless driving, interfering with an officer, and operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol, although police did not specify which substance he was under.

Torla will be arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on Jan. 4. His bond was not stated in he Cheshire police press release.
