Possible Rabid Animal Attacks Cheshire Woman

The Nichole Court resident was attacked on Wednesday about 10:45 a.m., police report, while she was sitting on her deck. She received minor leg injuries.

"It appears the animal was not provoked by the resident, but it is possible the animal was feeding on berries nearby and became startled as the home borders a thickly wooded area," the statement read.

The animal was not trapped so a rabies test was not possible. Police ask residents to call l if they see coyotes or foxes acting in a strange manner, or are noticed during the daytime.
