The case: A Norwalk man was charged with driving under the influence, according to police.

The twist: Just before midnight on July 28, the accused's motorcycle tipped over at a Darien intersection, police report. He turned his bike upright and told a watching officer he was fine, police said. However, police said they decided to investigate further after the man drove away and left his shoe behind. The man was later given a field sobriety test, which he failed, police report.

The case: Police report that they charged a Middletown man with breach of peace.

The twist: The man was charged after pouring a liter-bottle of soda onto a street musician playing an electric guitar, police said. The accused claimed that he tripped over a crack in the sidewalk and accidentally spilled the drink, according to police.

The case: A Bridgeport man was charged with sixth-degree larceny, according to police.

Knocking Down (the Door for) the Rent

The case:  Darien police charged a local man with breach of peace, police report.

The twist: Police said that the accused was knocking on and kicking an apartment tenant's door just before midnight. The man, who is related to the landlord of the apartment building, said he was there to collect rent from the tenants, police said.
