River Flooding in Cheshire and Southington

The Ten Mile and Quinnipiac Rivers overflowed their banks today after about three inches of rain fell overnight. No major damage was reported but several roads were closed just north of Cheshire.

Cheshire remains under a flood warning with another rain storm predicted for Thursday. The state Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security reports that storm could bring 2.5 inches of additional rain. The Quinnipiac River in Southington rose to about four feet above flood stage today.
